Being a parent is tough, really tough. Do you feel like you’re losing the game? Are you worn out, exhausted, stressed, tense, and tired? Good! Yep, I said good.
That means you ARE human, you HAVE heart, and you DO care.
All of these emotions and feelings are real, don’t let a soul on this earth tell you that you’re wrong. This crap is rough! You can make it a lot easier on yourself and be a lazy parent, but that’s not who you are. And you care.
Raising kids is not easy at all, especially when you push yourself to be the best consistently. But the reward outweighs the means…you’re creating a next generation of the most loving, honorable, respectful, powerful humans to ever grace this earth. Don’t forget that.
My two nuggets for the day:
-It’s ok to have a meltdown, you’re human and not perfect. Walk away for a minute and do what you gotta do!
-If you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of them. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with saying every once in a while, “meh we’re not winning any awards today, go watch TV and I’ll make sure you don’t die”. You’re a person, you get to recharge. If you’ve got a support system call in some backup! If you have no support system, use the TV and food. Be careful what they watch, but use that thing!
Y’all have a good day and God Bless!
Here’s the link to the organization that can set dads up with what they need for their local watchdog group. Talk to them, make it happen if you need it!!!
Sorry everybody I’ve been crazy busy with my day job and my little guy starting baseball! I’m planning on going live tomorrow evening I promise!
Who wants to talk about parent shaming? I do! Just happened to me and I need to vent! I’m gonna talk about the miserable humans who make it harder to be a decent parent in public when (not if) your kids have a meltdown. You don’t know anyone’s life and if you’re going to parent shame over a meltdown you need an attitude adjustment. I can help you with that I promise. Going live somewhere around 9:30ish…sorry for the lateness, but I hope you’ll tune in when you have time!
